The entry deadline is approaching for the Scottish Nature Photography Awards 2018.
This annual photographic competition celebrating nature, wildlife and landscape photography in Scotland is open to professional and amateur photographers from around the world, but images must be taken in Scotland. Entries close 24:00 hours GMT on Friday 30th November 2018. This is the 9th annual competition to seek the Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year.
The categories are: Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2018 - Scottish Wildlife Portrait - Scottish Wildlife Behaviour - Scottish Landscape, Sea & Coast - Scottish Landscape, The Land - Scottish Landscape, Urban Greenspace - Scottish Botanical - Natural Abstract - Environmental - Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2018 (open to under-18s). Up to 5 images on any Scottish nature subject - Student Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2018 (for full or part-time students over-18 undertaking a photography element in their course) - Portfolio of 3 images on the theme of 'Coastline' - Scottish Nature Video Award 2018 for short films on a nature, wildlife or landscape theme made in Scotland by professional or amateur filmmakers.
This year's Judges are - Raymond Besant – Wildlife cameraman and photographer; Jamie Grant - Photographer and writer; Niall Irvine – Digital imaging, design & photography & Co-organiser of the Awards
Winning images and videos will be featured in a Touring Exhibition in 2019. Winning and shortlisted images and videos will be featured in the Portfolio Yearbook 2018.
