Scottish Nature Photography Awards 2017 Entry deadline approaching.
This annual photographic competition celebrating nature, wildlife and landscape photography in Scotland is open to professional and amateur photographers from around the world, but images must be taken in Scotland. Entries close at 24:00 hours GMT on Thursday 30th November 2017. This is the 8th annual competition to seek the Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year.
The categories are: Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2017 - Scottish Wildlife Portrait - Scottish Wildlife Behaviour - Scottish Landscape Sea & Coast Scottish Landscape The Land - Scottish Landscape Urban Greenspace - Scottish Botanical - Natural Abstract - Environmental
Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2017 (open to under-18s). Up to 5 images on any Scottish nature subject.
Student Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2017 (for full or part-time students over-18 undertaking a photography element in their course) Portfolio of 3 images on the theme of "Woods".
Scottish Nature Video Award 2017 for short films on a nature, wildlife or landscape theme made in Scotland by professional or amateur filmmakers.
Judges: Photographic competition: Andy Hall – Photographer Niall Irvine – Digital Imaging, Design & Photography & Co-organiser of the Awards Polly Pullar - Naturalist, Writer and Photographer Scottish Nature Video Award: Raymond Besant - Wildlife Cameraman and Photographer Niall Irvine – Partner in Perspectives - Digital Imaging, Design & Photography Winning images and videos will be featured in a Touring Exhibition in 2018. Winning and shortlisted images will be featured in the Portfolio Yearbook 2017.
