With the SPF and PAGB purchase of the new Canon WUX500 projectors at the beginning of this year, it has been necessary to timetable when both organisations will introduce 1600 x 1200 as our standard projection size requirement for all Competitions. The SPF announced this in January 2016, and the PAGB have since agreed the same ‘Standard Resolution’ for their events, so we are taking this opportunity to remind you that this NEW Standard Resolution for all SPF Events will be in place for all events and Competitions from 1st January 2017.
We are reminding you of this now, as some Clubs may choose to begin collecting in images from their members now in the larger sizes. Some Clubs have already introduced this bigger size, if they too have purchased one of the new projectors.
The PAGB change will come in to force in July 2017 for Warwick. 1400 x 1050 will continue to be accepted in all SPF Competitions, along with smaller image sizes. However; we strongly suggest that you do not submit image sizes smaller than 1400 x 1050, as they will be significantly smaller on the screen.
To give you an idea how these resolution sizes compare, when projected on a screen, you can download “An Insight into Resolutions” below, or visit the extra details we have supplied in the SPF Guidance Area of this website (click here) You will also find an update of the “Digital Guidance Notes 1” for the new image size of 1600 x 1200 in this SPF Guidance area. We have also included this news item, in poster form for you to download and pin up in your Club.
