‘Beauty Behind Doors’ - Charity Exhibition of Church Interiors by Margaret Elliot and David Moyes.
Dumfries Museum are hosting a photographic exhibition for Margaret Elliot and David Moyes, the exhibition consists of church interiors around Dumfries and district. Many churches are closing, and the interiors are changing. The heritage of these churches through their architecture of the interior will be lost and gone forever.
There are two different styles of photography in the exhibition. Margaret has produced the majority of her work in black and white, this takes your eye to the shapes and shadows to bring out the workmanship of the architecture. David on the other hand has produced panoramic, coloured Images to show the width and beauty in the lighting and fixings.
The pictures will be for sale and the proceeds are to go to the local Ukrainian community. They are all framed and ready to hang thanks to our sponsors. Margaret and Dave are members of the Dumfries camera club and have access to paper and ink suppliers, Permajet professional ink media, have kindly sponsored our exhibition. And another member of the club Jim Mc Michael has donated most of the frames.
